We are grateful for the opportunity to assist you, our exceptional clients, in all your important work.
We are grateful, too, for the expert assistance of every member of our technical and support team.
And now the Christmas Twist.
Some of you already know the drill. Each year at this special time, we honour you all by not giving you a gift. Not even a card. It’s not that we are unwilling to make the effort, but we want to honour you by aiming for the highest good.
So we will forego the cards, the chocolates, the bottles of um, whatever… and once again highlight a worthy cause.
This Christmas, as a tribute to the many ways that you give all year, Alphabet is making a donation to the R.R. Smith Memorial Fund Foundation.
It has been my good fortune to get to know the work of these folks in the last few months. Started as a charity effort by retired teachers in British Columbia, the R.R. Smith Memorial Fund Foundation now supports programs that touch the lives of children and aspiring educators around the world. R.R. Smith provides scholarships, funds acquisition of equipment and supports the training of new teachers.

Now, as good teachers have taught us to do, it is time to review:

What have we learned?
Christmas is a special time for lifelong learners. It is a season where we once again learn the power of new beginnings. A time where we can re-learn how important it is to reach out, to take the small risk of giving so as to spark a new beginning in the life of someone else.
So about that test.
Yes, there is a test – and the test is for each of us. It is the test that comes with each day of the New Year. Will we take those little risks that allow for connection and give encouragement? Are we willing to make those small gambits of trust that open up possibility in the lives of others?
Let’s try. All we have to lose are the cautious ways that limit us, and there is so much to be gained.
